Pinkbike Battery

The crew over at Pinkbike has just posted a review of the Battery…

“All together my experience on the Mountain Cycle Battery was awesome. It’s a really fun trail bike that can be adapted to many different riding styles. It held up awesome to berms, jumps, drops, even crashes, and ran flawlessly through out it all.”

Bike Radar

Owen stopped in at Bike Radar (the mothership of MBUK, What Mountain Bike and various narfy road magazines) the other day, dropping off some hot product for review.

Keep your eyes peeled for more!

Klunkers

A few years ago there was a seminal moment in the history of the Mountain Bike, when the superb film/documentary Klunkerz was released. It charts the early years of MTB, with contributions from guys you’ll never otherwise have heard of like Otis Guy (one of the very very early adopters of full-suss MTB’s!)

As the Klunkerz site says: Klunkerz is the definitive film about Mountain Bikes, the story of how a bunch of scruffy hippies gave birth to what became a multi-million dollar olympic sport. With contributions from bike legends Charlie Kelly, Gary Fisher and many more, all with the most amazing action!

It’s one of my personal favourites, and I was recently chatting with Director Billy Savage on FaceBook, after the conversation he sent me a copy of his Press Release;

Did you just see what I noticed…. Look again more carefully:

It turns out that, over all the years and through all the changes, it’s the one bike he’s always kept, and it just keeps on riding…!

If you’ve not done so already, go buy a copy of Klunkers now, help out a fellow MC bro’!

Super Fury review by MTB Trail Review & MTBR!

We’ve just received word from MTB Trail Review that they have finished with the Fury review, and the best news is; they like it! A Lot!

Not only have they posted it on their site (which is well worth checking out btw, as it’s a great read) but they have also flowed it over to MTBR.com so even more people can read all about it.

“I took this bike on several long North Georgia epics and it did great as an all day bike. The Mountain Cycle Fury was light and nimble while still having the stiffness require for the super tech. It was fun to drop the seat and whip this bike around. The shorter wheelbase and steep head angle made it a fast, nimble turner. Tight, twisty single track is where the frame really shined. If you are used to trails that require fast, tight turns (like or tree infested single track), this could be the bike for you. Stiff overall design with fast steering…”

The Good News

  • Climbs like a mountain goat.
  • Respectable build weight for a stiff chassis 5″ travel bike.
  • Incredible value for a very well built frame.
  • Great for all day epics.

We’d like to thank Robb and his team for running this review, and we’re glad he enjoyed the Fury so much!

Don’t forget that he’s also running a competition over on his site, where you can win a Mountain Cycle Fury frameset, all you have to do is write a review of your favourite trail, so get thinking.
