Crash!Fresh news from a our SoCal HQ, we would like to make a warm welcome to Dave “Crash” Collins; long time friend of MC, underground race promoter, and now artist… Amongst other things, Crash runs a series of races in/around Bootleg Canyon, one of our favourite places to ride & home of the Interbike Dirt Demo (And spiritual home to our dearly departed friend Brent). We’ve been proud to help Crash make these races happen, as over the last couple of years they have gained a superb reputation for fun, clean and honest racing. We’ve attended as sponsors/exhibitors, sponsored the uplift trucks, given away prizes, and now were delighted that Crash has decided to come on board and help us out by hauling on one of our bikes. He’s recently kicked off the cobwebs and come out of retirement to race in a select few events, including the invitational race at renowned Woodward West, where he says “the bike handled Fricken Awesome!!” You can find out all about Crash Innovations over here If you take a close look at the photos, you’ll notice something pretty distinctive on the mainframe, some custom hand-painted artwork that I think looks pretty darn fine… We sometimes get asked the question “why doesn’t my bike have decals on the front frame?” Crash has answered that question; we’ve left you a blank canvas because you have to get inspired and make that bike your own! Bike RadarOwen stopped in at Bike Radar (the mothership of MBUK, What Mountain Bike and various narfy road magazines) the other day, dropping off some hot product for review. Keep your eyes peeled for more! Super Fury review by MTB Trail Review & MTBR!We’ve just received word from MTB Trail Review that they have finished with the Fury review, and the best news is; they like it! A Lot! Not only have they posted it on their site (which is well worth checking out btw, as it’s a great read) but they have also flowed it over to MTBR.com so even more people can read all about it. “I took this bike on several long North Georgia epics and it did great as an all day bike. The Mountain Cycle Fury was light and nimble while still having the stiffness require for the super tech. It was fun to drop the seat and whip this bike around. The shorter wheelbase and steep head angle made it a fast, nimble turner. Tight, twisty single track is where the frame really shined. If you are used to trails that require fast, tight turns (like or tree infested single track), this could be the bike for you. Stiff overall design with fast steering…”
The Good News
We’d like to thank Robb and his team for running this review, and we’re glad he enjoyed the Fury so much! Don’t forget that he’s also running a competition over on his site, where you can win a Mountain Cycle Fury frameset, all you have to do is write a review of your favourite trail, so get thinking. Ton of FunI’ve just had a word in from Jim D, who has been riding a lot recently. He’s been putting the fury through its paces and says it’s a “ton of fun Bike”. The pic was taken at Highland in NE USA, which is about as core as mountain bike destinations go. Super technical trials, with plenty of jumps and slopestyle features. We have an open invite to go out there and ride, I might have to start looking at airline flights… |
